Environmental Sustainaibility
The Environmental Sustainability Group works to advance awareness of policy actions impacting the state's natural resources and advance league environmental priorities through engagement with our elected and appointed representatives and the Indiana General Assembly. This group meets once a year to identify priorities and then works collaboratively to draw attention to actions impacting these priorities.
Members stay informed through regular email communications and monitoring of environmentally focused groups active in our state. On April 14, Purdue’s Institute for a Sustainable Future and the White River Alliance presented a virtual forum on Water Withdrawals, Transfers, Sustainable Use and Policy in Indiana. This topic is of interest for all League members but especially those who want a deeper understanding of the potential impact of the proposed Water Piping project associated with the Lebanon LEAP project.
