Our Program and Positions

The League of Women Voters sets its priorities through a member-driven process called Program Planning. Every two years, members at the local, state, and national levels review existing positions, recommend new issues for study, and decide where the League should focus its time and resources. Based on these recommendations, delegates at convention adopt the official Program for the next two years.

2025 PROGRAM PLANNING

From this Program, members research, discuss, and reach consensus to create formal positions. A position is the foundation for League action: we only advocate on an issue when a position has been established through this grassroots process. Program Planning sets the agenda, and positions give the League the authority to act. This ensures that every action we take is thoughtful, informed, and rooted in member priorities.
