Library Services in Tippecanoe County-Study Committee Report

The Local Government Study Committee completed its study of library services in Tippecanoe County December 2011. Read the complete report . Thank you to all the committee members for this study and professional report. Members included Jean Andres, chair; KD Benson, Shelly McLauchlan and Joanne Evers.

LWVGL Positions

Local positions
At the 2011 Annual Meeting, the membership approved a review and rewrite of two current positions including 'Solid Waste Management' and 'Problems of Women and Women with Children Who Are Victims of Domestic Violence'. Committees were formed and their work is now complete. The committee to review the domestic violence position submitted a rewrite to the LWVGL board and with minor changes, the board approved the position November 2011. The revised position can be found on the website under Positions on Issues then Taking Action -- Local Positions or by clicking here.
A committee formed to review the Solid Waste Management position and submitted a proposal to the board requesting a complete restudy of the issue due to the changes in science and technology and greater awareness of environmental issues. The request will be presented to the membership at the 2012 annual meeting.
In addition, the Local Government Study Committee completed the study of library services in Tippecanoe County. The report is on the website under League Activities and can also be found on the Members Only Page.
